Blackpool What's On

Blackpool Tower
There is lots to see and do at the Blackpool Tower and Blackpool Circus, including the Aquarium, Tower Ballroom, Tower Top Ride, Walk of Faith and of course the Circus.  There is always a good selection of spectacular shows so see the latest events here http://www.theblackpooltower.co.uk/

Blackpool Illuminations
Blackpool Illuminations will be switched on, on Friday 3rd September 2010 and turned off on Sunday 7th November 2010.  Blackpool Illuminations first shone in 1879, yes, 131 years ago! And have been a crowd pulling attraction ever since. You can view the famous Blackpool lights from car, coach or tram by driving down the length of the Golden Mile or more leisurely by foot.  Each year, a famous face switches the lights on and thousands of pounds are collected for charity. It is an awesome site and well worth a visit!

Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Blackpool Pleasure Beach covers some 42 acres with over 6 million visitors each year!. The Pleasure Beach is renowned as being innovative and forward thinking, with Europe's tallest, fastest rollercoaster being built in 1994, the Pepsi Max. Shortly after, just three years later in 1997 saw yet another monster ride, the 210 foot, £2 million Ice Blast, The Ride. In 2000, at a breathtaking cost of £15million, Valhalla was born, the world's biggest dark ride. 2002 saw the launch of the new £1million ride Spin Doctor with riders spin 360 degrees at heights of 120 feet at over 60 mph. In 2003, The Big Blue Hotel opened at the south end of the Pleasure Beach.
Another new white knuckle ride costing £2m named "Bling" was created in 2005. Reaching speeds of over 60mph and a spine tingling 2.5G's, Bling lifts riders 100 feet above the ground and spins them through the air on giant glittering gondolas in three different directions.
